Here is some bio information about him:
What got you into CrossFit: I was first introduced to CrossFit around late 2005 or early 2006 by one of the trainers at the gym where I was working out. He said it was similar to some of the things he saw me doing, and I might like it.
Coaching style: I’m the grizzly old coach. I’ve been, done, and seen. I’ve got a story or saying for every situation, and I’m going to tell you what you need to hear, even if it’s not what you want to hear.
What is one thing you bring to your classes that makes them unique/special: I think the patience of age, and a big bag of tricks, built up over two decades of experience.
Favorite playlist/music: In classes, I try to bias towards what I think most of my classes will vine on. Classic rock for the over 40 crowd, etc. When I’m working out by myself, I like 70s jazz, funk, and R&B for lifting, and some occasional British Drum & Bass for conditioning.
Favorite Workout: There’s no room in my life for organized sports anymore, so anything that gives me a chance to feel athletic and not like I’m just ticking away reps in the gym. Trail running, going to a local field and running 40s or agility drills, throwing, and anything that requires reaction to external stimuli really get my juices flowing.
Fitness Goals/Accomplishments: At 45, I’ve pretty much come to terms with the reality that 99% of my lifetime performance PRs are behind me; now; it’s just a war of attrition. My goal is to stay as fit as I can for as long as I can, so that I can still do impressive stuff when my daughter is old enough to remember it.
Work/Hobbies: Being a dad is about all I have time for, but that’s enough.
